Spain Ranch will always be my home venue.
Have you ever felt a special connection to a place? Well, Spain Ranch is that place for me. Just about 3 years ago, I was married at the same venue in the same spot as Dawson & Alexis. Every time I walk back into the white barn, or even onto the property for that matter, I am flooded with nostalgia of where I married the love of my life. I feel so lucky that I get to go back to the place where my husband and I started our marriage and work in the same field.
But this story isn’t about how I got married. It’s about Dawson & Alexis – their thriving relationship & the people that helped get them to this day. Dawson & Alexis met at a rival high school basketball game – Claremore vs. Pryor (Alexis vs. Dawson). One of Alexis’ best friends, who went to Pryor, introduced her to a group of friends with Dawson being one of them. They shook hands, introduced each themselves, and that was the start of one big group of friends hanging out until Dawson texted Alexis one day. Fast forward a few years, these highschool sweethearts got engaged and started planning their dream wedding. Alexis told me that no one in their family has really had a big, extravagant wedding like theirs, so being able to bring all of their loved ones together to celebrate was a big deal. The most important thing to Dawson & Alexis was that in the end, they will be unified as one.
The day started out in the Black Barn, where Dawson, Alexis, and their wedding parties got ready in their own suites blaring music & keeping it chill. Back in the white barn, the vendor team was getting to work on the tablescapes, florals, and details. When everything came together, the wedding was modern with a black and white color palette. The ceremony & reception spaces brought in romantic elements like candles, greenery and draping. Seeing it all finished showed just how incredible of a planner Alexis is, and I’m so excited to cheer her on as she pursues the passion that her own wedding gave her for wedding planning.
Let me just tell you, the entire day was a BLAST with this group – both the bridal party & groomsmen kept Dawson & Alexis hyped all day, continuing the party into the night. Because they chose to do a first look early in the day, we were able to finish alllll portraits before the ceremony, with the exception of a few family photos after the fact. For the first time in my wedding career, I was able to see one of my couples go & enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests because of their choice to finish all photos ahead of time. That’s what I want for everyone on their wedding day – a stress free day where you’re able to enjoy the things you worked so hard for with the people you love. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Fleak!

“We had an amazing vendor team at our wedding but I knew from the beginning of our engagement that Jordan was my person!! The best thing I found in our experience was the effort and preparing she does before the wedding day to make everything run as efficient and smooth as possible. I found that there was a balance in the photos so we didn’t feel like our entire day was spent with a camera in our faces. It was so hot outside but she didn’t make us feel rushed, if we wanted a break for some air conditioning and water she was patient and understanding. She has an optimistic attitude which I found encouraging and uplifting from day one. She truly gave us the best photography experience we could’ve asked for on our wedding day!”Alexis
