Looking back on Josh & Sofia’s wedding day is a dream.
The details were all so intentional, and their chosen vendor team brought together the couple’s vision with such grace.
The wedding took place at The Mayo Hotel, and I’m in love with the personal touch that Josh & Sofia added to the ceremony. Instead of the traditional ceremony location in the hotel lobby, among the cascading stairs, the couple chose to have their nuptials in the stunning, white ballroom on the 16th floor of the Mayo. Brittany Douthitt Co. coordinated the wonderful day, while Langhorne Floral Co. designed the most amazing floral installation and personal pieces.
Getting ready began in the ladies suit. Sofia’s hair & makeup team, Jara Herron Salon and Kaa Beauty, did a lovely job. Our bride’s modern dress came from David’s Bridal.
Over in the guys room, Josh put on his suit from Rye 51 – and immediately – I was reminded of the inspired David Beckham look, which of course, was Josh’s intention.
The ceremony was full of so much sentiment. As Sofia entered the ballroom, friends & family’s eyes began welling with tears, while Josh was completely overcome with emotion. They prayed, they worshiped, they celebrated. Behind my camera, I cried, I smiled, I laughed. It was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever experienced.
Josh & Sofia are one of a kind, and I am so grateful to have documented such a special day at The Mayo Hotel.
After the ceremony, Josh & Sofia had a mini cake cutting reception for their ceremony guests and ended with the most amazing, confetti-filled, grand exit!
The evening reception took place in The Mayo Hotel Ballroom after family, wedding party, and day-time couple photos. Josh, Sofia, the wedding party, and family formed a receiving line as all guests were welcomed to the celebration!
After the grand entrance and toasts, Josh & Sofia escaped up to the rooftop for some sunset couple photos as the sun peeked through the cloudy sky. It was a little piece of heaven.
