Did you know that we had some desert landscape in Oklahoma?
WELL, we do & Rosie, Aaron, and I found it at the Gloss Mountain State Park about 2.5 hours away from Tulsa. Genuinely, the Gloss Mountains are one of the prettiest views I’ve ever seen in Oklahoma. From red dirt, prairie grass, yellow flower fields, crystalites, to desert shrubs, and more, it felt like we took an even longer road trip out to New Mexico. When we arrived, the mountains appeared out of nowhere, and as we turned into the park, the drive was stunning as we looked straight at the red mountain sides. After parking, we discovered a yellow flower field. Paired with Rosie’s peach maxi-dress & Aaron’s floral tie, our first stop was the view of flowers. Rosie brought along a gorgeous bouquet full of peach, pink & orange blooms.
What’s most important to me, over all of this pretty landscape, is getting to hear the stories of the people I photograph. Aaron & Rosie met at OU during a pool party, and eventually, started dating. During our session, I heard all about how much they love to hike & some of the incredible places they’ve been in the past few years. Someday, they hope to live in Utah, because of their love for exploring nature and national parks, which I thought was very fitting that we were doing a destination session for their engagement photos. Aaron is a landscape photographer, and Rosie is hoping to become a videographer. I seriously cannot wait to see all of the amazing things they do!
As the sun started to inch closer to the horizon, we prepared for the short hike up the mountain. Those steep stairs got nothin’ on us! Once we reached the top, I had to completely take in our surroundings. A beautiful blue sky full of clouds, the sun beaming in off the cliff, incredible landscapes all around us, and some classic tunes blaring out of my portable speaker. It was one of those moments where it felt like time stopped. Aaron & Rosie were frolicking around, being goofy, picking each other up, spinning, laughing, and having the best time while I captured it all. The night ended as the sun set & we watched from the edge of the cliff. One of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen. I can’t wait to go back.

“My experience with Jordan was amazing start to finish. From our initial email she was very responsive, kind, understood my vision, and was mindful of my insecurities. Our photo session was one of my favorite memories with my fiancé and it’s because Jordan created an entire experience with laughter, asking about our story, and even music that we love! Finally, the images that she produced blew me away. The end result was high quality, intentional, and stunning. This photographer knows what she’s doing!”Rosie
